The Atelier

I built Atelier Chatelaine around a simple belief: that the objects we live with should mean something. Each piece I source carries real history, the craftsmanship of another era, made to last in a way that little is today. Choosing vintage is also choosing to opt out of the cycle of disposable things. This is a space for collectors, vintage sellers, and anyone drawn to older objects with genuine stories. The focus is not on trends or volume. It is on discernment, context, and choosing with intention.

Why Atelier?

The word "atelier" matters here. It suggests a working space, a practice, and an approach shaped over time.

What I share is grounded in real markets. Early mornings at brocantes. Quiet conversations with dealers. Regional routes that only make sense once you have walked them. It is knowledge earned slowly and shared clearly, so you can navigate this world of vintage and antiques with confidence.

The Guide

I’m Kathy. I spend my time in England and France, learning on the ground, building relationships with dealers, and gaining access to the best places to source. I’ve learned that the difference between a hesitant buyer and a confident one is rarely about money or experience. More often, it comes down to access and understanding. Knowing where to go, how to move through a market, and what to look for once you’re there. That is what Atelier is built around. Whether you’re building a home with intention, growing a vintage business, or shopping with more confidence and less regret, you are in the right place.

The Philosophy

Older objects deserve discernment.

They carry the marks of time, craftsmanship, and the lives they have passed through. Choosing them well means looking beyond impulse and novelty, and instead noticing the details that give a piece character and integrity.

The aim is not simply to collect, but to choose thoughtfully. To build homes and collections that feel layered, considered, and quietly meaningful over time.
