This is my home region, and this trip is the one I have wanted to host since the day I moved here. For six days we source our way through the North I know best: the stone villages of the Yorkshire Dales, the Moors, the Peak District, and the dealers I buy from all year, whose barns and showrooms hold far more than their websites ever show. Early April in the North means fires still lit in the pubs, lambs in the fields, spring flowers coming up along the lanes, and a buying season just waking up. At the dealers we take our time, with room to learn, linger and look twice. Then partway through the week we trade the country lanes for the glorious chaos of Newark, and shop Europe's largest antiques fair the way the trade does.

Early Spring in the North

April here turns green fast, the daffodils still bright along the hedgerows, and the season's stock is fresh.
