Spring Blossoms in Paris: Favourite Places, Fresh Starts and a Personal Note

Spring Blossoms in Paris: Favourite Places, Fresh Starts and a Personal Note

There’s something about Paris in the spring. The kind of something that lingers in your clothes and behind your eyes long after the plane ride home. The air is softer, the light a little warmer and the whole city seems to exhale after winter—just as I do.

For me, spring in Paris isn’t just about travel. It’s about memory, meaning and moments that feel a little suspended in time. I’ve wandered these streets in all seasons, but Spring is special to me. My daughter's first trip to Paris (and second) were in these awakening months. And that turned everyday scenes into heirloom moments. The way she tucked into her first true croissant. Our matching wide-eyed awe at the windows of Astier de Villatte for its magical candles and the countless patisseries and boulangeries. The quiet pause on the banks of the Seine as the bouquinistes set up for the morning. It still plays like a reel in my mind.

Favorite Spring Places in Paris

If you ever find yourself in Paris in late March or April, these are the stops I always return to—the places that bloom in more ways than one.

1. Square Jean XXIII behind Notre-Dame

A small garden where the cherry blossoms hit their peak just as the light comes over the cathedral. Quiet in the mornings, romantic in the afternoons. Sit on the benches with a baguette and let the moment sink in.

2. Rue Cler in the 7th

Not just a market street—an entire sensory experience. Flowers, cheeses, strawberries, laughter. Everything feels close to the skin in spring.

3. Jardin des Plantes

It’s less polished than Luxembourg, and that’s part of its charm. Tulips, magnolias and secret benches. A place to wander with no agenda, and in all honesty, one of my favourites.

4. The Marais, early

Before the boutiques open, before the cafés fill. The pink haze from flowering trees spills onto the cobblestones. It’s a good place to remember who you are.

Spring as a Fresh Start

I think spring invites us to reset—not with pressure, but with possibility.
And this season, I’m doing just that.

Atelier Chatelaine has grown in ways I never imagined. What started as a vintage shop has become something broader, and I can't wait to share it with you.

Wherever this season finds you—planning your own trip, launching something new or simply craving beauty—I hope spring brings you softness and strength in equal measure.

And if Paris is on your mind, well, you’re in good company.

À bientôt,
Kathy xx
