FrenchConsul is a female-owned and operated brand run by a woman after our own heart, Karen Miles. According to her website, a significant life change combined with an eye-opening solo trip to Paris led Karen to follow her dreams and create FrenchConsul, specialising in best-quality sustainable linens featuring the classic French stripe that we so adore!
We have nothing but admiration for the get-up-and-go that inspires such a momentous life and career shift, and today Australian-based FrenchConsul's products are stocked in over seven countries worldwide!
Karen's brand is dedicated to preserving the tradition of the French farmer's 'grain sack' stripe. Historically, grain farmers used these stripes on linen sacks throughout Europe to distinguish their products at the markets. Charmed by this history, Karen set out to revive this classical design set against handmade quality linen and share it with the world.
All French Consul's linens are manufactured from the highest quality flax plants grown in France and produced in Ireland. The items are lovingly hand-cut and woven in small production runs, sustainably supporting local industry. The result is superior quality linen, some of the finest available on the market; soft yet durable, beautiful and hardworking.
