One of the oldest pieces in this collection, this is a mid 1800s oil on canvas in the original gilt frame - what a find! A true piece of antique French art.

The painting gives off the classic yellowed hue, due to the age of the painting and creates such a special mood. It depicts a bucolic setting with a rural landscape, complete with rock cave, lake and a boat with people, possibly leaving the shore to go fishing or enjoy a pleasant cruise with picnic in tow!

The brush strokes and use of colour are superb! This painting is smooth to the touch and is in fabulous condition for it's age.

This piece measures 34 cm x 42 cm. The original frame has wear and tear due to the age but looks lovely framing this stunning piece!
