What a find! A splayed style saute pan, in a beautiful handmade, hammered copper. Exceptional quality with thick copper, tin lining and a gorgeous forged iron handle with rivets.
A splayed pan is referring to the shape of the pan - as opposed to being straight vertical, it has an angle slope. This gives a charming look to the pan and halfway between the frying pan and the saucepan, the splayed saute pan is the ideal utensil to cook small pieces of meat or vegetables in pieces with a small quantity of oil after browning them over high heat. This style of pan has been in production since the 1800s!
This pan is stamped "Fabrication Francaise" to identify its classically made in France by copper artisans. This is the mark of a high quality French copper product, made in Normandy, France.
Tinned on the inside, high quality and no signs of the copper peeking through! Cuisine ready.
