A serene 19th century, French oil on canvas wrapped over a wood board and secured with rivets. This painting is signed and dated 1898.
The painting depicts a lovely capture of yellow roses just cut from the bush at the seasons end. With beautiful use of greens from olive to leaf and the subtle brush strokes, this is a very nice and well done painting. There are two small holes in the canvas which adds to the appeal of the overall piece (see photos).
This piece is smooth to the touch and measures 23 cm x 35.5 cm.
