What a lovely find! This is a woven tray, commonly used in the old process of making beer - straining the hop from soil. Some countries refer to it as a winnowing basket, used to separate grains from soil.

The date is unknown, but expected to be the turn of the century (late 1800s).

It makes a stunning styling option for a wall or use it on a big farm table for fruit!
