SLOW DÉCOR FOR AN INTENTIONAL LIFESTYLE.

The DUBONNET antique French match striker, or PYROGENIE, is in excellent condition, complete with a stamp on the bottom! (double wow!)

This striker is from the early 1900s and includes the writing "Vin au Quinquina"  (Vin au quinquina, or quinquina wine, is a type of aromatized wine and apéritif that's typically made with quinine and other botanicals). These pieces would be found in brasseries and bistros on their table with matches in the middle, so people could light their cigarettes.

They often advertised drinks, brands or services. This one was made for Dubonnet. Such a lovely item and a true part of the Parisian and French bistro culture.

This one is also a subtle version using white ironstone and French blue for the script - so classic!

7 cm H x 10 cm D.

Sourced in Paris, France.

Please be advised that all items in our Vintage Collection are second-hand pieces with a previous life. All cosmetic marks, stains, bumps and signs of wear are part of the natural character and beauty of vintage pieces.
