Panier. What the French call a basket. Paniers come in all shapes and sizes, often with very specific purposes - a form of mise en place. This is a wonderful version of a foraging basket, sometimes called a mushroom basket. Used when foraging food or harvesting the grounds, this basket has a raised area in the middle of the bottom to separate food. They do think of everything!
A lovely example of classic, handwoven French paniers which can be used for so many purposes! Store your fruit or bread and use it on the table, hang it on a wall for decor or have it handy for gardening or shopping at the Farmer's market!
A strong, handwoven handle completes the look of this traditional panier, making it an authentically French addition to your home.
The wide oval shape measures 31 cm x 23 cm x 19 cm, including the handle.
