Vintage Handmade Collecting Basket

Panier. What the French call a basket. Paniers come in all shapes and sizes, often with very specific purposes - a form of mise en place.  This is a wonderful version of a collecting basket. Used when foraging food or harvesting the grounds. 

Amazing artisan made french willow and hawthorn basket with a chippy coat of antique stain on the outside and raw wood on the inside. It has all the beautiful irregularities of hand made items with many years of use.

Condition : Very good, still sturdy but a few signs of time. A lovely example of classic, handwoven French paniers which can be used for so many purposes! Store your fruit or bread and use it on the table, hang it on a wall for decor or have it handy for gardening or shopping at the Farmer's market!

The oval shape measures 28 cm x 17 cm x 19 cm, including the handle.
