What a sweet plate with a creamy base with a mid blue pattern.

The Terre de Fer table pays tribute to 19th century French manufactures. The name "Terre de fer" refers to fine earthenware that is closer to porcelain.

Probably used as a saucer, though the rim lip is higher than a typical saucer plate. Perfect to set your soap on, either in the bathroom, mudroom or kitchen. Serve chocolates or after dinner treats, maybe a plate of olives with aperitif?

This incredible design was made by the coffee house "Au Planteur de Caïffa" founded in 1890 by Michel Cahen and his wife.

The underside is stamped "Terre de Fer - Au Planteur de Caïffa" along with the service name "Guirlande".

Plate is 13 cm in diameter and in excellent condition!

Sourced in Normandy, France.
