Start. The. Car.  Did I have a skip to my step when I fumbled upon not one, but two of these Mauviel French copper casserole pots! *squeal*

The best in class French copper cooking pot is excellent quality and has two solid brass handles, a matching lid with a brass knob, is fully lined and is stamped "Mauviel Villedieu" along with the "Made in France" stamp, next to one of the chunky handles.

These stamps indicate production around 1960. The tin is in perfect condition, leading me to believe these pots have been re-tinned, so...bonus! It's the perfect combination of vintage copper with new use.

It is in perfect condition inside and out! Mauviel, a luxury producer of copper since 1830, is known for their heavy gauge copper, superb tin lining and used by professional chefs around the world. There products are built to last generations.

This is simple luxury.

A little history: Few know the first name of this designer of genius, Ernest Mauviel, however, the products manufactured in his traditional workshop, founded in 1830, are well-known, the world over. His descendants have inherited his great passion. Seven generations separate Ernest, the Founder, at the start of this great adventure, to Valérie, today, this company is the flagship, of the Bay of Mount St Michael, it glorifies the kitchens of professionals and individuals, in France and abroad. Its exceptional know-how is the master trump of its success, and its skill to adapt, its vault. For almost two centuries, Mauviel 1830 adapts to the ever -developing market.

It measures 22cm width handle to handle, 16.5cm diameter, 9cm deep and weighs 1.22kg.

Found at the Grand Braderie des Amiens, France.
