How lovely. Known as a French Tulip Jelly Jar, these antique French jars are special - from the flared, "tulip" shape, design and thickness of the glass, to its artisan roots. Traditionally used as confiture jars, they are now seen in discerning French kitchens as salt, pepper or spice holders, filled with flowers, used to preserve or used as a drinking glass. They would also be the perfect container for a homemade candle or used to serve your favourite apero snack, sauce or jam!
Like the famous glassmaker, La Rochere, these jars were made by artisans handpressing glass moulds into beautiful shapes and designs. These three jars have slightly different sizes and shapes, all approximately 4.75 inch diameter x 3.5 inch height.
Sourced from brocantes in the Charente.
Made in France.
